How to choose a charity

When deciding on what charity you would like to support here are some simple tips to think about

Interests

You may select a charity based on it supporting an interest or activity that is common with your own life.  It may be that following the loss of a family member you may gravitate towards a particular cause or you may have an interest that you may wish to help protect and preserve.

Registered Charities

There are many charities out there and for the most part they are all above board. One way to ensure that your money goes to the cause that you want it to go towards is to check if the charity is officially registered. You may decide to support a local charity that is not registered but you know the people involved and that may be a great choice for you. If in doubt, check the registration number.

You must deal directly with your chosen charity regarding fundraising eg: sponsorship cards, deposit of funds raised, link to a charity page etc

Campaigns or Drives

Some charities may have a campaign or drive that may interest you. If you want to find out about campaigns that charities are running simply ring them and ask! If you like them then you can support something that is motivating to you to raise money.

Follow your Heart

Giving is a wonderful experience and whichever charity you decide upon will be delighted by your support. Your money will go a long way to help charities provide the services to people or causes in need. Just follow your heart and you will make a great decision!
