#Sisterhood - Leanne Butler - Kilkenny- running for mental health
Leanne here, I am a 27-year-old Fitness fanatic from Kilkenny.
I am a soldier in the Irish Army for the last four years. Before that I was a Fitness instructor.
I'd run more or less every day, from 6km to 26km, you name it and I’ll do it:) I'd be very into weight training also. I ran my first marathon last year, Dublin, enjoyed it soo much I went and entered for 2 marathons, 2 half marathons, a 30km and 3×10kms this year so it's a busy enough year running wise, I'm also currently on the Nco course in the Army till August so i get my Army training in daily too.
I'm extremely motivated, that has helped me reach my goals and better myself each and every day! I love seeing others enjoy fitness as much as I do, that is why I love taking part in the wmm, for each and every one of you taking part in this event this year, I hope you achieve everything you set out to achieve & I’ll look forward to running with ye along the way❤
I ran the VHI Women’s mini marathon last year with one of my best friends Niamh, it was her first 10km I might add, soo proud! she is joining me again this year for another 10km under her belt 👍🙆♀️
I am not running for any charity this year but what i am running for are those that have been through the hard times, suicide, depression, anxiety, a want to run with them solely on my mind, some never made it to the other side, some have and I want to dedicate my participation for each and every one of them.
I am soo excited to be a part of the sisterhood, so if you do see me throughout the course, come say hi or join me in spreading the good vibes.
