What happens if I don't have my Acceptance Letter?

Postal Entrants should have received their Acceptance Letter by post. If you have any problem with your Acceptance Letter contact the office on 01 2930984 or visit the HELP DESK when collecting your number.

For online entrants the Acceptance Letter is part of the confirmation email sent on entering. If you do not have this email, please go to www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie Click on the Login button, enter your login details and press Resend Email.

 

Can I have my confirmation email resent?

If you need to have your email resent please go to www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie. Click on the LOGIN button, enter your login details and press Resend Email.

How do I collect my Race Number?

All participants in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon must wear the official race number, for timing purposes and to gain entry into the correct start area. Below are details of how to collect your Race Number:

  • When you complete your On-Line entry for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon you will be sent a Confirmation email which will contain your Acceptance Letter. If you enter by post you will receive your Acceptance Letter in the post sometime after entry.
  • The Letter has barcode and Information on dates, times and locations where your race-number may be collected.
  • On the date of your choice your letter should be brought to the appropriate location – anyone may collect your number for you once they have your letter.
  • The barcode on the letter will be scanned and you will receive you race number.
  • Race number contains timing chip.
  • Once scanned your name is associated with that number so be careful not to mix up with others if collecting multiple numbers.
  • If you miss your nominated collection point your number may be picked at any of the remaining collection points.
  • Race numbers MUST be collected from one of our official collection points.

What can I do if I forget to collect my number ?

Your number may be collected at any of the remaining number collection points if you did not get it on the date you specified.

When do entries open for the event?

Entries will open 1st March 2017

How do I enter?

All participants must enter either on the official Entry Form which will appear in The Herald every Wednesday and Saturday from 1st March 2017 or online at www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie.

How much does it cost to enter?

€20.00 entry fee + €1 processing charge

When is the closing date for entry?

Entries will close on the 28th April 2017 or when maximum number of entries is reached.

Do I have to raise money for charity?

There is no obligation to raise money for charity. Many participants use this event to fundraise for their favourite charity but it is not necessary to fundraise to participate in the event.

How do I get sponsorship cards?

You must contact your chosen charity directly to get sponsorship cards and/or charity packs.

What is the minimum age to enter the event?

The minimum age to enter the event as a walker, jogger or fast jogger is 14 years of age. The minimum age to enter as a runner or elite runner is 18 years of age

What are the categories for this event?

There are 6 categories (1) Walker (2) Jogger (3) Fast Jogger (4) Runner (5) Elite Runner (6) Elite Visually Impaired Runner 

What are the qualification times to enter each category?

You must enter the category that you have already achieved the qualifying time for, in the past two years. This can be in the Women's Mini Marathon or in another official race. If you achieve a qualifying time for a different category later, we will upgrade your category on receipt of proof of your time before May 12th.

  • Walker: Open to all - no qualification time required. Minimum age 14 years
  • Jogger:100 mins for under for 10K or 40 mins or under for 5K. Minimum age 14 years 
  • Fast jogger: 75 minutes or under for 10K or 30 mins or under for 5K. Minimum age 14 years
  • Runner: Under 60 mins for 10K -  Minimum age 18 years
  • Elite Runner: Under 45mins for 10K -  Minimum age 18 years
  • Racing Wheelchair: Under 60 mins
  • ​Elite Visually Impaired: Under 60 mins

Can I bring backpacks/flags/banners/etc. with me in the race?

For healthy and safety reasons, all items larger than a small backpack (L26cm x W2cm x H41cm) must be left in our Baggage Storage area.  No flags, banners, poles, etc. are permitted in the race. Any such items will be removed by event staff.

Can I get my medal engraved?

Yes, medal engraving will be available on race day in the Reunion area.

How much does medal engraving cost?

You can prepay for medal engraving at the RDS on June 3rd (10am – 6pm) or on June 4th (11am – 6pm) at the Medal Engraving stand.  The cost is €6.50.  The cost on race day will be €8.

Are men permitted to enter this event?

No. The Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is a FEMALE ONLY event and we ask all participants to respect this please.
