The popularity of jogging and running over the last number of years has led to a huge increase in walking, jogging and running events across the country. There are great resources such as AthleticsIreland.ie and Runireland.com that have lists of events happening all over the country. There are also hundreds of locally led events that you can join to help in training for the big day. Walking is the easiest way to get moving, get active and get happy. Meet and Train
Meet and Train groups are organised by volunteers and take place throughout the country. To find one near you read details here.
The Fit4Life programme is organised through the network of athletic clubs throughout Ireland. The training nights feature group runs, with each group comprised of people with similar fitness levels. These groups range in ability from complete beginners up to regular runners and each train at their appropriate level. Details at www.athleticsireland.ie
Parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. Details www.parkrun.ie.
