#womenwithimpact - Lisa, Dogs In Distress

This year our Every T-Shirt Tells A Story video series, part of our #WomenwithImpact campaign, is sharing some of the amazing stories behind the t-shirts that are worn by many of the women taking part in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon.

The series continues this week with Lisa Clonan (31), who lives with her son Jake (4) in Porterstown in Dublin.  Lisa is a big supporter of Dogs in Distress, and fosters dogs for the charity.

Over the past four years, Lisa has made an impact on the lives of so many dogs, fostering ten dogs while Dogs in Distress find a new forever home for them.  “Each and every one of the dogs were different, but they have all been fantastic and I’ve loved having each and every one of them.  Many come from difficult backgrounds, and I love that Jake and I can give them a safe and loving home.”

Lisa is looking forward to supporting Dogs in Distress at this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. “I’ve done the Mini Marathon for a few years.  I’ve walked and jogged it in the past, and I’ll be jogging it this year.  It’s a social thing, I do it with a group of friends, and we all do it for different charities.  I always do it for Dogs in Distress.  My favourite part is definitely the buzz and the atmosphere, it’s a brilliant day!”
